Ishikawa no Hyōe, the lay priest [石河の兵衛入道] (n.d.) ( Ishikawa no Hyōe-nyūdō): A follower of Nichiren and the steward of Omosu in Fuji District in Suruga Province, Japan. His full name was Ishikawa Shinbei Yoshisuke. His wife was an elder sister of Nanjō Tokimitsu (1259–1332), the steward of Ueno in the same province and Nichiren’s loyal follower, and it is thought that he converted to Nichiren’s teachings through this relationship.
