Lotus Sutra and Its Traditions, The ［法華伝記］ (Chin Fa-hua-chuan-chi;  Hokke-denki): A work written by Seng-hsiang, a priest of China, in the eighth century. This work maintains the superiority of Kumārajīva’s Chinese translation of the Lotus Sutra over all the other Chinese translations of the sutra. Moreover, it contains various stories concerning benefits and salvation to be gained by performing such deeds as expounding, reading and reciting, transcribing, listening to, and making offerings to the Lotus Sutra.
