World-Honored One ［世尊］ (, Pali bhagavat;  seson): One of the ten honorable titles of a Buddha. The Sanskrit bhagavat is usually translated into English as “blessed one.” In the Chinese Buddhist scriptures, bhagavat was rendered as World-Honored One. A Buddha is so called because he is widely revered in the world.
