Nadī Kāshyapa [那提迦葉] (; Pali Nadī Kassapa; Nadai-kashō): An ascetic who practiced fire worship and lived in the village of Uruvilvā near Gayā, a city in Magadha, India, during the time of Shakyamuni Buddha. He converted to Shakyamuni’s teaching along with his two brothers, Uruvilvā Kāshyapa and Gayā Kāshyapa, when Shakyamuni went to their village to preach soon after attaining enlightenment. Nadī Kāshyapa had three hundred disciples of his own who all converted to Buddhism at the same time as their teacher.
