Myōichi-nyo [妙一女] (n.d.): A follower of Nichiren. Very little is known about her. Two of Nichiren’s letters to her are extant, dated respectively the fourteenth day of the seventh month, 1280, and the fifth day of the tenth month of the same year. The former is known as The Doctrine of Attaining Buddhahood in One’s Present Form, and the latter is a reply to her questions about the same subject. One account identifies her with the lay nun Myōichi, who received a letter from Nichiren titled Winter Always Turns to Spring. See also Myōichi, the lay nun.
