Annotations on “Great Concentration and Insight,” The [止観輔行伝弘決] (Chin Chih-kuan-fu-hsing-chuan-hung-chüeh; Shikan-bugyōden-guketsu): A detailed commentary in ten volumes by Miao-lo (711–782) on Great Concentration and Insight, one of T’ien-t’ai’s three major works. After T’ien-t’ai’s death, a number of differing interpretations of Great Concentration and Insight began to appear both within and outside of the T’ien-t’ai school. Miao-lo wrote The Annotations on “Great Concentration and Insight” to refute mistaken interpretations and clarify the correct doctrines of the T’ien-t’ai school.
