Gayā Kāshyapa [伽耶迦葉] (; Pali Gayā Kassapa; Gaya-kashō): One of three brothers of Uruvilvā in India who converted to Shakyamuni’s teachings in his early days of preaching. The two others were Uruvilvā Kāshyapa and Nadī Kāshyapa. All three were leaders among Brahman ascetics, and Gayā Kāshyapa’s two hundred disciples are said to have converted to Buddhism with him.
