Gopikā [瞿夷] (; Kui): Also known as Gopī or Gopā. Shakyamuni’s wife while he was a prince, before he renounced secular life to seek enlightenment. The Twelve-year Journey Sutra describes Gopikā as Shakyamuni’s principal wife, and Yashodharā, the mother of his son and disciple Rāhula, as his second wife. In the Sutra of Collected Birth Stories concerning the Practice of the Six Pāramitās, however, Gopikā is the mother of Rāhula and is identified with Yashodharā.
