Kālayashas [畺良耶舎] (383–442) (; Kyōryōyasha): A monk of Central Asia, renowned for excelling in meditation and mastery of the three divisions of the Buddhist canon. In 424 he went to Chien-k’ang, the capital of the Liu Sung dynasty in China, where Emperor Wen welcomed him. He translated into Chinese the Meditation on the Buddha Infinite Life Sutra and the Meditation on the Two Bodhisattvas Medicine King and Medicine Superior Sutra.
