Kalandaka [迦蘭陀] (; Karanda): A wealthy man of the state of Magadha in India who is said to have donated a bamboo grove in the suburbs of Rājagriha to Shakyamuni Buddha. On the land donated by Kalandaka, Bimbisāra, king of Magadha, built a Buddhist monastery and donated it to Shakyamuni and his Order. This monastery was known as Bamboo Grove Monastery. There are several conflicting accounts of this story, including one that has Bimbisāra donating both the site and the monastery. Still another account has it that both the land and the monastery were offered by Kalandaka.
