Continued Biographies of Eminent Priests, The [続高僧伝] (Chin Hsü-kao-seng-chuan; Zoku-kōsō-den): Also known as The T’ang Dynasty Biographies of Eminent Priests. A thirty-volume work compiled in 645 by Tao-hsüan in China. It is a continuation of The Liang Dynasty Biographies of Eminent Priests (completed in 519) and states in its preface that it contains a collection of the biographies of five hundred prominent priests of the period from 502, the beginning of the Liang dynasty, to 645, the nineteenth year of the Chen-kuan era of the T’ang dynasty.
