Shen-t’ai [神泰] (n.d.) (PY Shentai; Jintai): A priest and translator of the early T’ang dynasty (618–907) in China. As a disciple of Hsüan-tsang, he engaged in the translation of Buddhist scriptures and in 657 became the chief priest of Hsi-ming-ssu temple. He wrote The Annotations on “The Summary of the Mahayana” and The Annotations on “The Dharma Analysis Treasury.” The latter is regarded as one of the three major annotations on The Dharma Analysis Treasury, the other two of which were written by P’u-kuang and Fa-pao.
