Suttanipāta [経集] (Pali; Kyōshū): One of the earliest scriptures of the Pali canon. It is part of the Khuddaka-nikāya, one of the five Āgamas that constitute the sutra section of the Pali canon. Suttanipāta means collection of suttas or sutras, i.e., collection of discourses. Largely written in verse form, it is divided into five sections and comprises about seventy sutras. Suttanipāta is regarded as an invaluable resource for the study of early Buddhist ideas and the early Buddhist Order.
