Simhahanu ［師子頰王］ (; Pali Sīhahanu;  Shishikyō-ō): A king of Kapilavastu and the Shākya tribe in ancient India, the father of Shuddhodana and grandfather of Shakyamuni. The Sutra of the Collected Stories of the Buddha’s Deeds in Past Lives and The Treatise on the Great Perfection of Wisdom say that Simhahanu had four sons and one daughter. The first son was Shuddhodana, the second Shuklodana, the third Dronodana, and the fourth Amritodana; the daughter was Amrita. Simhahanu was also the grandfather of Ānanda, Aniruddha, and Devadatta.
