Shrīmālā [勝鬘夫人] (; Shōman-bunin): Also known as Lady Shrīmālā or Queen Shrīmālā. A daughter of King Prasenajit of Kosala in India and his consort Mallikā, in the time of Shakyamuni. Shrīmālā married Mitrayashas (also known as Yashomitra), the king of Ayodhyā. She is the protagonist of the Shrīmālā Sutra, which depicts her conversion to Buddhism by her parents, her encounter with Shakyamuni Buddha, and her vows to the Buddha to propagate the one vehicle teaching.
